Obviously with the software being free to download and use, there is no compulsion to make a donation to its upkeep. What is being asked is that if you wish to use the software, be aware that it costs approx $250,000 to create a new version.
This is a tough question, and its entirely up to the individual. Any and all amounts are appreciated and the faster the donations arrive, the 'faster to market' new versions and updates will be. If for example you are from the Middle East region (as an increasing number of visitors are), then perhaps a couple of barrels of Oil would be useful.
How much is enough? ... without donations and support from the user-base progress becomes difficult.
