Stop Loss - ATR Long/Short

click for a larger image
The ATR stop loss tool is designed to place a trailing stop from the starting point. The calculation is based upon the ATR indicator and the point is plotted an X number of ATR values either above or below the bar for the day.

In the case of the ATR Long, a new point is plotted when a higher value is calculated. This way the stop loss value will never decline, that is, it will not chase a declining market. The reverse is also true for the ATR Short.

Usage

  1. Select the button for ATR Stop loss from the Toolbar.
  2. Move the mouse pointer over the starting position for the Line. This may be either a high or a low price.
  3. Press the left mouse button and the Stop Loss values will be calculated from that point forward.
