Squares - Grid/User Defined
The Square Grid is similar to the Standard Squares except that the squares will paint continuously over the chart surface creating a grid of the selected square. The Highlight feature allows for easy recognition of the originating Square.

The Square of 144,90 and 52 are part of what Gann described as his ' Master Calculators '. It is simply structured, being the set number of units high and wide. It should be noted that 144 is a Fibonacci number that figures often in Elliott wave analysis. The Square of 144 and well as the Market specific squares are essentially a mapping tool that is overlaid over the market, giving the analyst the ability to make a quick appraisal of the market.

As can be seen in the chart below , the Square is composed of a Gann grid which has the classic divisions of 50% with interconnecting lines. The Gannalyst application also allows the presentation 33%, 25% and 12.5% divisions. When placed on a significant High or Low the square clearly displays areas of support and resistance.

User Defined
Whilst the Square of 144, 90 and 52 have a fixed dimension, there are also Market Specific squares whose dimensions are defined by the underlying market. To cater for all the different markets that are available, as well as Stocks and Shares, Gannalyst Pro has a Square that is 'User Defined', that is, the user enters the size of the square before it is drawn on the chart. Once drawn, all the familiar features for squares are available.

Version 5 introduces the concept of Highlights. With the Square Grid tool, you have the ability to highlight the originating Square to make it easily recognizable.
