| Parallel Lines represent the foundation of basic Technical analysis. Over time, a trending market will tend to maintain its price range between two parallel lines. These lines form Support on the lower line and Resistance on the upper line. Occasionally the market will break out of the lower or upper lines and then resume the trend within the new parallel channel. Also worth considering is how the market behaves as it crosses above or below the center line of the channel. |
| The Highlight is provided so that the channel described by the lines is visually more obvious to the viewer. |

- Select the button for drawing Parallel Lines from the Toolbar.
- Move the mouse pointer over the starting position for the Line. This may be either a high or a low price.
- Press the left mouse button, and , keeping it pressed down, drag the mouse pointer to the desired end point and release the left mouse button.
- You now have a second line attached to the mouse which can be placed anywhere on the chart surface by simply clicking once more.

The property editor as well as other functions may be accessed by holding the mouse pointer over the Parallel line and Clicking the Right Mouse button. A popup menu will appear (see picture).
The user may then open the Indicator Property Editor, move the Tool above or below other indicators,extend the lines forwards or backwards hide the Tool or delete the Parallel Line from the Chart. |

The property editor as well as other functions may be accessed by holding the mouse pointer over the indicator line and Clicking the Right Mouse button. You can also access the Property Editor directly by 'Double Clicking' on the line. All the drawing tools share the same property editor allowing the user to alter the following properties:
- Start/End Line Color
- Line Width
- Set Center Line Color
- Toggle visibility of Center line
- Translucent Color
- Translucent Visibility
- Translucent Strength
After alteration, the user has the ability to set these settings as default for all future lines drawn on the page.
